Outburst peak epoch in the table. Epoch of minimum of the orbital variability is BJD 2460040.065. For two months in 2023 (Sectors 63 and 64) only, V0572 Vel displayed two weak transient periodicities, at 0.105495 and 0.156470 days, of unknown origin (2025ATel17254....1S). Multiple outbursts during the years 2017-2024, indicating its classification as a dwarf nova, likely UGSU due to the presence of both long (lasting more than 13 days) and short (lasting 3-4 days) outbursts (2025ATel17253....1U). Amplitude reached 5 mag. |

Likely progenitor is blue and showed large amplitude variability in the past. Gaia DR3: G= 18.21; BP-RP= 0.31; BP-G= 0.02; VPHAS+ DR3.2: r= 18.34, r-i= -0.06, but single observation i= 21.4 (HJD 2457004.832); ATLAS REFCAT2: g= 18.04; g-r= 0.01. DECaPS images show a blue object with approximate g= 22 and fainter in r. Almost superimposed to the 16.8 Bmag. galaxy LEDA 96477. |
