Schmeer, Patrick
Astrometry obtained on 2019 May 28.985 UT (21 38 49.68 +42 12 23.7; observer G. Wells, measurer D. Bamberger, personal communication) confirms that the outbursting object is indeed PSO J213849.665+421223.663 and not the close companion.

Gaia DR2 parallax 0.7261 ± 0.0875 mas (distance 1.3 ± 0.2 kpc). The ASAS-SN Sky Patrol recorded between 2014 Dec. 16 and 2019 May 24 two outbursts: on 2016 June 20 and on 2019 May 22. ASAS-SN data contaminated by Gaia DR2 1966829150207515776 (V= 17.8; sep. 3") and partially contaminated by 2MASS J21384838+4212171 (V= 13.8; sep. 16"). Maximum magnitude has been corrected.
