1 Linnolt, Mike The recent Tappert paper (2012arXiv1204.1501T) re-classifying this object as a Mira appears to be based upon an incorrect position. The coordinates published in Tappert point to another brighter star: 2MASS J18350101-3003356 at 18 35 01.01 -30 03 35.6 which has J= 10.96; K= 10.03; V= 14.06; B-V= 1.67 (APASS) and it is not a Mira variable according to available ASAS-3, CMC15, UCAC3, USNO-A2.0, USNO-B1.0, GSC2.3 data that show the star as a constant (or barely variable) star of ~14.0 Vmag. The J-K color is consistent with a late K-type star as determined from the spectrum published in that same paper. The actual original object named V1310 Sgr is in fact the nova of 1935 (Type NB, t3=390 days), which is located about 45 arc seconds SW of the 14th mag. star. Brad Schaefer has identified the Nova on old Harvard plate MF 22524 and its actual coordinates are 18:34:58.9 -30:04:10 (+/- 6 arcsecs).
