TY Vel was reported to be variable in 1920 by Wood, but examination of those plates shows that the 9.5 figure is incorrect.
There is a red variable nearby (NSV 18171) but has mag. 15 in B so it couldn't have been observed at 9.5p. The report on variability for the star that was named as TY Velorum seems to be spurious.
V= 11.82 in UCAC3; V= 11.86 in SPM4 and V= 11.84 -11.93 in Marino and Walker (1982). B-V around 0.15. |
