1 Otero, Sebastian Alberto J-K= 0.96. The original discovery report has rough coordinates and a low resolution finding chart. The star was identified based on ASAS-3 variability (7" away from the bluer star previously identified as V0601 Sco). ASAS-3 magnitudes are a blend of the variable and 2MASS J17040535-3643343 (V= 16.2; J-K= 0.66; sep. 7"), 2MASS J17040594-3643386 (V= 16.7; J-K= 1.43; sep. 16"), 2MASS J17040455-3643495 (V= 16.4; J-K= 0.45; sep. 19") and 2MASS J17040383-3643474 (V= 14.2; J-K= 0.24; sep. 20"). The identification was confirmed using Rod Stubbing's visual observations of the target that show the same variability as the ASAS-3 light curve. The range has been corrected and is consistent with Stubbing's observations and the mean V magnitude derived from UCAC3.
