Schmeer, Patrick
|
Discovered on 1866 May 12 by John Birmingham. First nova to be identified with an existing star (BD +26°2765, 9.5 mag). Second known eruption detected independently by Norman F. H. Knight (1946 Feb. 9.25 UT) and Armin Joseph Deutsch (Feb. 9.35 UT). Gaia DR2 parallax 1.2127 ± 0.0488 mas (distance 806 ± 33 pc). |

VB? A (B <= 12m, 0.2"). SB (P = 227.6d). The spectral period is present in the photometric data of 1891 - 1917 and 1960 - 1971 [J.Bailey, JBAA 85, N3, 217, 1975.]. The epoch of the first outburst JD2402734 (1866). Two smaller outbursts were observed in UV light, JD2438030 (1963) and 2442543 (1975) [L.H.Palmer, J.L.Africano, IBVS N2069, 1982.]. |
